The structure of mountain hotel in Beskydy
Danelová, Veronika ; Straka,, Bohumil (referee) ; Šmak, Milan (advisor)
The diploma thesis presents design and assessment of a loadbearing timber structure of mountain hotel in the Trojmezi u Hrčavy area. The object is a two-storey building without cellar and with attic rooms. The object has a floor plan of an incomplete octagon with a roofless central courtyard. The structure spans 36 meters at its widest dimension and the maximum height reaches almost 12 meters. The individual segments are covered by mono-pitched roof with 27° slope. The main loadbearing elements are constructed of glued laminated timber and solid timber with steel joints and gypsum fibreboard cladding. The loadbearing structure is designed and assessed in accordance with relevant standards, taking ultimate and serviceability limit state into consideration. The thesis includes an engineering report including bill of quantities, structural design report and drawings of loadbearing structure, anchorage and selected details.
Steel Structure of Sport Hall
Hrabovská, Kristýna ; Balázs, Ivan (referee) ; Horáček, Martin (advisor)
The principal aim of this thesis is to design and assess the steel structure of a new sports hall located in Slavkov u Brna. The hall should be used mainly for common collective ball sports. This fact places minimal requirements on the dimensions of the building. The hall has rectangular shape with dimensions of 61x30 meters, height of 12.5 meters and a saddle roof with angle of slope 10°. Its main frame is created of truss with pin-supported beams. The spatial rigidity of the structure is secured by longitudinal and sway bracings. The bars of the steel structure consist of rolled sections. The cladding of hall made of panels manufactured by Kingspan. Panels are supported by wall girts and roof purlins. A permanent load on the building is considered due to the weight of the steel structure and panels and variable load is considered due to the snow load and wind load. Steel S235 is used as the construction material.
The multipurpose hall in Tábor
Tomeš, Martin ; Sýkora, Karel (referee) ; Šmak, Milan (advisor)
In my project I focused on the design of the sports hall in Tabor. As the main construction material was used glued laminated timber. the associated structure was used steel. the structure has a span of 45 meters and a length of 60 m, height of 15.5 meters. For a given type konstruckce I decided for economic reasons to curved beams of glulam supported at the ends.
Station building in Vsetín
Mičola, Jan ; Pilgr,, Milan (referee) ; Šmak, Milan (advisor)
The master's thesis deals with the steel structures in building industry. The aim of this paper is to propose and statically evaluate the load-bearing steel structure of railway station in Vsetín. After solving the construction load by the roof cladding and external cladding, it follows by an assessment of individual elements of construction, including an assessment of their joints. From a static perspective, the roof structure consists of two diagonal arches which are joined into each other in the top and two longitudinals frames. The entire structure is designed with an emphasis on freedom of internal layout independent of the load-bearing structure.
The Roofing of the Three-Aisled Sport Building
Labuda, Ondřej ; Šmak, Milan (referee) ; Buchta, Stanislav (advisor)
The theme of the master’s thesis is to design wooden roof structure three-aisled building in Brno. The proposal is developed up according to standards ČSN EN. The thesis solves the static effect of the wooden structure, design of parts, and materials design. Plan dimensions are 51x14m, maximal height is 11,9m. The structure is designed for ultimate limit states and serviceability. The supporting structure is designed as solid wooden arched trusses frames's connection to the wooden pole. The thesis solve also details and solution design.
The Exhibition Gallery in Olomouc
Morcinková, Eliška ; Straka,, Bohumil (referee) ; Šmak, Milan (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is the design of bearing construction of the Exhibition gallery in Olomouc. The building is of irregular shape with the biggest span of 50 m. The bearing structure in the highest point goes up to 14,6 m. The main design material is the glue-laminated timber GL24h and GL32h. The optimization of chosen parts of the structure has been made and the best option was then used in the detailed structural calculation. The bearing structure consists of circular columns to which the floor beams and roof trusses are connected. The irregular structure of the gallery comprises of three different roof types – flat trafficable roof, double-pitched glass roof formed by pitched cambered trusses and single-pitch roof spanning over the central part of a 20,7 m span. Within the thesis the design and check of the main structure members and connections has been made. The entire structure is pinned and its stiffness is secured by the system of tension rods and rigid floor and roof construction respectively.
The Three Aisled Storage Building
Ilavský, Branislav ; Šmak, Milan (referee) ; Buchta, Stanislav (advisor)
The aim of my Diploma Thesis is to design and analyse the carrier steel construction of the three-aisled storehouse in location Frýdek-Místek. The object is constructed as spatial frame structure with solid joints which sits hinged on base footings. The hall is of rectangular ground plan sizing 30x46 metres with axial span of transverse links 9,0m + 12,0m + 9,0m and lenght of transverse links 12,0m. The carrying roof construction is made of full-length framed rungs and lattice purlins with parabolic lower belt. A main-aisle roof is saddle with the angle of 5 degrees and its top in height of +9m. The sided-aisle roofs are rack-type with the same angle. The construction sheating is made of polyurethan panel system with trapezium profile. The load consists of its own weight, other usable still and climate load in the form of wind and snow in regards of considered location. The static assessment is performed in SciaEngineer 2012 programme.
